About Mercy Ships Online Volunteer Application Policy
Mercy Ships Online Application Policy outlines how Mercy Ships manages the personal information of visitors to our website. It describes what, when and how personal information is collected, and your obligations when submitting an online application or registering your interest in a position.
What personal information does Mercy Ships collect?
Mercy Ships collects personal information that is voluntarily provided to us. Whenever it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we only collect your personal information directly from you.  By completing the Online Volunteer Application and sending it to Mercy Ships you consent to Mercy Ships’ use of your personal information for purposes related to Mercy Ships’ processing your Application and related to your volunteer service with Mercy Ships.
If you decide to submit an online application on the Mercy Ships website, the information that you enter into the online application or when you register your interest in a position, will be the only information collected by Mercy Ships. If you do not complete and submit your online application, the information that you have entered up to that point will be retained by Mercy Ships for recruiting and follow up purposes only.
How will Mercy Ships use collected personal information?
The personal information collected will be used for the following purposes:

Mercy Ships only uses and discloses personal information about you for purposes reasonably related to your Application and service as a Mercy Ships Volunteer.  We may, for example, notify you of volunteer opportunities that are closely aligned to your qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience as you have disclosed to us in an employment application. If you accept a position with Mercy Ships, the information collected will become part of your employment record and will be used for employment purposes.
Although your personal information is submitted in the US, Mercy Ships is a global organization; as such, we often share personal information with national offices.  Each Mercy Ships national office complies with the legal requirements of local national laws for the protection and privacy of personal information or personal data. When you volunteer personal information on our website, you consent to us sharing your personal information with our national offices for purposes reasonably related to your Application and service as a Mercy Ships Volunteer.
