AV Technician
Summary:  Responsible for the operation and maintenance of audio and visual equipment for public address and internal communication. Recruits and trains volunteer AV operators from the crew.

Onboard our ships, communication is vital. Our AV Techs make sure that all ship wide communication is carried out with excellence. Whether it’s guests, donors, or your fellow crewmates, the information they rely on is coming from you and your team.

The AV Technician  volunteer position, part of the Information Services Department, will be located on the Africa Mercy and Global Mercy, the world's largest non-governmental hospital ships. The preferred minimum time commitment for this role is three months. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Commitments longer than twelve months require successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding Program.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in sound engineering, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years experience in operation of AV for events and meeting, preferably in an organizational setting.
