Summary:  Makes dentures for Mercy Ships dental patients and helps with training of local professionals in dental lab techniques.  Depending on which vessel, this could be an off-ship position that requires ability to work in hot and dusty environment.

The Dental Team is one of the busiest. This team works in a land-based dental clinic and cares for thousands of dental patients each field service through clinical care and education.

The Dental Lab Technician volunteer position, part of the Hospital, will be located in a land-based team house with other crew members for Senegal. The preferred minimum commitment for this role is two weeks. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Commitments longer than twelve months require successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding Program

Makes dentures for Mercy Ships dental patients and helps with training of local professionals in dental lab techniques. This is an off-ship position that requires ability to work in hot and dusty environments. 

This position requires living in a land-based team house with other crew members. 

Qualifications required:

  • Dental Lab Technician licensure required (minimum requirement)
  • Knowledgeable in the use of all dental lab techniques with a high focus on dentures 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluent in English
  • International Driver's Permit preferred
