Summary:  Teach Pysical Education to the High School Students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Teach courses as assigned in consultation with the Principal: Submit within four weeks of the commencement of school, or arrival on board as Academy staff, an outline of a year plan for each course assigned to be taught. Submit a weekly forecast giving details of all subjects being taught. Establish a program of evaluation (tests, assignments, projects, etc) suitable to evaluate, on an ongoing basis, student progress in each course taught throughout the school year Maintain suitable records of student progress, and prepare report cards of student progress in accordance with the school schedule. Make recommendations to the Principal regarding future grade placements for students at the end of the school year. Maintain a classroom atmosphere suitable for educational progress and spiritual development. Be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and cleaning own classroom area. Instruct and encourage classroom assistant helping in the Academy, if applicible. Attend all school prayer and staff meetings called by the Principal. Attend such meetings as are deemed compulsory by the management of the ship. Meet with the Principal on a regular basis. Other duties assigned on consultation with the Principal. An English teacher is responsible for organizing and maintaining the students' library and for all English textbooks and equipment used. A Mathematics teacher is responsible for the textbooks and equipment used. A Science teacher is responsible for all Science text books and scientific equipment used for experimentaion and demonstration. Levels of delegated authority: A = Act without informing. B = Act and inform. C = Act on instruction. D = Act after consultation. Due to the ever changing staffing levels and field service rotations, all staff may be re-assigned to temporarily fill roles in other departments in a time of need. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements) The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. It is desirable that teachers have a university degree in education or equivalent training. Consideration may be given to experience in special areas in lieu of teacher training.
