Staff Development Manager
Summary:  Responsible to oversee the design, planning, and implementation of appropriate training programs in accordance to the needs of the ship community.

Not expected to be available until at least July 2019. Applications for this position will be reviewed for our Talent Pool (waiting list).

Our volunteers are important to us. Which is why we have our Staff Development team. These volunteers serve as the “trainers” of the ships, spending their days teaching the volunteer crew professional and personal development skills including language, software, management, and more. 

The Staff Development Manager volunteer position, part of the Staff Development department, will be located on the Africa Mercy, the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship. The preferred minimum time commitment for this role is two years. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Commitments longer than ten months require successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding Program.

Qualifications Required:

  • Adult education background desirable
  • Minimum of five years of Mercy Ships experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • International Driver's Permit required
