Description:  Overview Title: Staff Development Manager Employment Status: Reports To: Human Resources Manager Grade: Department: Staff Development FLSA Status: Job Code: 0096 Entry Training: Date Modified: 31-Aug-2011 PSR Commitment: 2 years Summary Description The Staff Development Manager is responsible to oversee the design, planning, and implementation of appropriate training programs in accordance to the needs of the ship community in the following areas: Faith Foundations Cross-cultural Ministry Principles Community Living Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Oversee the design of training programs in accordance with agreed training philosophies. Maintain standards of excellence through leadership for the planning and implementation of training programs. Obtain regular learner needs assessments and decide on appropriate training modules. Approve all training resources, content, and speakers. Due to the ever changing staffing levels and field service rotations, all staff may be re-assigned to temporarily fill roles in other departments in a time of need. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements) The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. An ability to recognize training needs and initiate appropriate programs to address them. Above average communication skills. Full, clean driving license preferred. Will be expected to drive as part of departmental responsibilities. Adult Education background desirable but not required. Minimum of five years of Mercy Ships experience.
