General Inventory Controller
Summary:  Directly supervises stores areas and personnel in the ships’ Supply Department. Organize stores areas and collect accurate inventory and usage data.

Not expected to be available until at least June 2019. Applications for this position will be reviewed for our Talent Pool (waiting list).

It takes a lot to run a hospital ship. Luckily, our Supply department is always working hard to ensure we have enough supplies, at the right time, and in the right quantities so we can continue bringing hope and healing. 

The General Inventory Controller volunteer position, part of the Supply Department, will be located on the Africa Mercy, the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship. The preferred minimum time commitment for this role is two years. We recommend all interested applicants to submit an application at least six months in advance of your target service date. Commitments longer than ten months require successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding Program.

Qualifications Required:

  • 1-3 years experience in warehouse or logistics management required
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with computer applications, databases, email
  • Ability to lift up to 35 kg and work for prolonged periods of time standing
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively
